Seraphic said at the Broadcast Asia event in Singapore that it is now supporting HbbTV 2.0.1 and showed features including casting and synchronisation (Opera TV Works with BBC on HbbTV Synchronisation). Seraphic claims that its HbbTV 2 solution has been proved with “superb performance” on mainstream DTV and STB chipset platforms such as ALi, Broadcom, MStar, etc. “It saves integration efforts of device manufacturers and therefore could enable them to accelerate time-to-market,” said Ye Wang, CEO of the company. The company showed the technology in collaboration with IRT of Germany and ARD.
