ScioTeq’s 43” ATC-grade display becomes the standard in Italian ACC Centers

What They Say

ScioTeq, the company formed from the ATC businesses of Barco and Esterline, said in an email to us that its 43″ MDP-843 KM MUX air traffic monitors have been chosen as Main Radar Display with additional side systems by ENAV which provides ATC services to 45 control towers and four Area Control Centres.

A feature of the MDP-843 KM MUX is the integrated Multi-layout KVM and the integrated recording-at-the-glass solution. The air traffic controller can connect five different inputs on this revolutionary display and you can create up to 12 different layouts to work on. In contingency conditions, a fallback layout can be activated by a single touch of a button.

The deal was done with Italian VAS reseller, Storelink.

What We Think

The world ATM event is on this week in Madrid. This event in March 2020 was the last event I planned to attend before Covid hit. It was cancelled late, but I had planned to coordinate my visit with a weekend away and went ahead with that anyway. We came back on the Tuesday and Spain locked down on the Thursday. A few days later, I suffered what seemed like a bout of flu. Later tests have confirmed that it was Covid-19, but I was lucky that the impact was minor. Still, it didn’t make me enthusiastic to attend this year! (BR)
