Samsung Maintains U.S. Market Share Lead in Smart TV at 32%

What They Say

Samsung is still the biggest smart TV supplier in the US (with 32%), but TCL has now gone past Vizio to take the #2 spot with 14% of sales according to Statista, just ahead of Vizio at 13%

What We Think

Samsung’s dominance is no surprise, but TCL’s move past Vizio is significant. Vizio will find its strong position in the US increasingly under threat from the Chinese brands over the next few years. I have always felt that TCL’s adoption of the Roku platform was a good move – I have long been a fan. Combined with its global scale and vertical integration, it should continue to do well. (BR)
