Ricoh Reaches New Brightness Level

Ricoh has introduced its brightest-ever 3LCD projectors in the form of the WU6181N and WX6181N. With six interchangeable lenses, the units can throw an image from 0.6m – 51.2m from the projection screen.

Both models featured wired and (optional) wireless connectivity, and are compatible with meeting management apps – these can be used to control the projectors by meeting attendees.

Stacked, ceiling-mounting and rotation to project in portrait mode are supported. This makes the models suitable for use in digital signage. They are also capable of warping and blending, keystone correction and are compatible with Ricoh’s Advanced Network Utility (ANU) tool. ANU sends an image from a single source to multiple projectors at once.

The WU6181N has 1920 x 1200 resolution and outputs 6,200 lumens of brightness; the WX6181N has 1280 x 800 resolution and 6,700 lumens. Other than these specifications, the projectors are identical.

Images can be sized between 30″ and 500″, and contrast ratio is 6,000:1. Both models use a 350W lamp, lasting between 3,000 and 4,000 hours, and feature vertical and horizontal lens shift, as well as manual focus and zoom.

DisplayPort, HDMI-in (x2), HDMI-out, mini-VGA (x2), BNC, USB 2.0 (x3) and RJ45 ports are featured, as well as a 10W speaker. The projectors measure 499 x 359 x 142mm and weigh 8.4kg.

Ricoh is selling its new projectors now, for $5,100 (WU6181N) and $3,500 (WX6181N).
