US connected TV penetration will reach 71.2% of US internet users by 2020, according to eMarketer, representing 60.4% of the population. The analyst reports that growth in the use of connected TVs will increase by 20.6% this year to reach 181.8 million users, but growth will slow, reaching 202.1 million in 2020.
SmartTVs will be 26.9% in 2016, rising to 34.4% and connected devices such as Amazon and Google devices will grow, with those two companies in the lead. Apple TV and console growth will be slower and connected Blu-ray devices will be flat.
