Promethean has acquired interactive touch and pen technology from UK-based Light Blue Optics . As well as the technology IP, the acquisition also includes ‘a key member of LBO’s engineering team’.
Going forward, Promethean will integrate the LBO technology into its interactive display products for the classroom.
The deal was completed just before the finalisation of the takeover of Promethean. (Takeover at Promethean Now Done). We reported in Display Monitor (Vol 21 #28) last year that Promethean had licensed the LBO technology for its interactive displays.
