The 50:50 joint venture between Konica Minolta (KM) and Pioneer (Konica Minolta and Pioneer Establish Automotive OLED J/V) has now been officially established. Konica Minolta Pioneer OLED will handle the OLED lighting business of both companies, combining KM’s roll-to-roll flexible OLED production equipment with Pioneer’s OLED panel mass production and automotive expertise. The focus will be on automotive lighting. The new company has initial capital of ¥490 million ($4.4 million) and is aiming for annual sales of ¥25 billion ($225 million).
