Pico Interactive sent us a press release (which we’ll publish tomorrow) highlighting its Neo 3 Pro and Neo 3 Pre Eye stand-alone VR headsets. Headline features are:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 platform
- Single 5.5″ 90Hz LCD 3664 x 1920 (773ppi)
- Support of Ultraleap Gemini software via Stereo IR 170 module
- Two 6 DoF motion controllers and four cameras.
- Connectivity via Wi-Fi 6 and NVIDIA Cloud XR for wireless PC-based VR streaming and Nvidia Direct Mode using DisplayPort
- Available with and without Tobii eye tracking at €750 and €600.
- The eye track version is ready for Tobii Ocumen and supports Tobii Spotlight for dynamic foveated rendering.
What We Think
This looks like a good set of specifications and features at a very reasonable price. Pico should do well. It is promising support of 30 apps immediately and 100 by the end of October 2021. (BR)
