MMD has released a new large 43″ display under the Philips brand for a comparatively low price – because it doesn’t contain any processing power. The BDM430UC, part of the Ultraclear range, is an UltraHD screen that is intended for use as a monitor.
We first heard about the display in March, as a passing mention in a German article. We had contacted Philips about it at the time but heard nothing in return. More information has since become available.
An IPS panel provides a 1,200:1 contrast ratio, 5ms (g2g) response time and 60Hz refresh rate. The display can also show 10-bit colour and has 100% sRGB gamut coverage.
Suiting gamers and professional users, DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0 (x2, both supporting MHL), VGA and USB 3.0 (x4) interfaces are featured. Two 7W speakers are also built in.
The BDM430UC is available now, for $800.
