MMD/Philips has shared some of the desktop monitor products that it will bring to IFA 2015.
A curved 34″ display will be one of the highlights. The display will feature edge-to-edge glass and ultra-narrow bezels, with 3440 x 1440 resolution and wide viewing angles.
Focusing on colour, a new 27″ monitor with Color IQ quantum dots will be shown. This model uses an IPS panel and covers part (specifications were not shared) of the Adobe RGB colour space.
Philips’ Ambiglow Plus Base will be seen in Europe for the first time. This feature creates a halo of light on and around the base, which is synchronised with the display image. The light can also be used when the display is off.
Finally, there will be a 24″ monitor using the SoftBlue technology that we first saw at IFA 2014 (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 36). SoftBlue works by changing the wavelength of the blue light, rather than eliminating it.
