Taiwanese TV Shipments Shrink as China Turns Away

Shipments of LCD TVs made in Taiwan fell more than 8% YoY in Q2’15, say sources in Asia, as China’s Haier cut orders to Taiwanese makers. Shipments gained some momentum with sales to LG Electronics and Xiaomi, however. 7.97 million units were shipped in Q2. Growth could increase in Q3, by 22.1% QoQ (to 9.71 million units), and by a further 4.6% in Q4 (to pass 10 million units), due to seasonal effects.
