Sigmaintell told us that monitor panels have good inventory at the moment, but inventory is still growing to avoid possible out of stock situations. Although monitor panel prices have been stable, prices are more likely to decline very slightly to maintain sales. This will affect panels such as 21.5″ more than 23.8″, for example. Notebook panels, on the other hand, are seeing slow sales because of strong inventories. The industry is reacting to Samsung’s withdrawal from notebook panel sales and by the end of Q2, the re-alignment should be complete, and panel prices may drop back from the firm levels seen so far this year.
