AUO is supplying 30% of the 1.6″ LCD panels for Sony’s Smartwatch 3, say Asian sources. Innolux will also supply some panels, as Sony is apparently increasing its orders from Taiwanese makers.

LG Lowers OLED Target – Apparently
Sources in Asia have said that LG has reduced its OLED TV sales target. The company set a target of 5 million sets in June (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 25), but has apparently now dropped that to 800,000.
LG’s WOLED Pushes Yields Past 80%
In a meeting with CNet, LG’s global communication Director, Ken Hong, has said that OLED TV yields now exceed 80% – thanks to the WOLED technology it purchased from Kodak (Display Monitor Vol 16 No 47). Production Begins at LG’s Guangzhou Plant
Mass-production has begun at LG Display’s G8.5 line in Guangzhou, China. The Beijing News says that the fab is manufacturing medium- and large-sized (mainly 42″, 49″ and 55″) UltraHD LCD TV panels.
