There are now 2.3 million subscribers to Italy’s free satellite platform, Tivusat. 210,000 of these are new customers this year.
Ofcom, in the UK, is testing the possibility of interference to DTT signals when using white space devices. The regulator is trialling a system called dynamic spectrum access; white space devices could use this to access the same spectrum used for DTT signals. O2 TV, an IPTV service in the Czech Republic, has announced that it has gained more than 4,000 new subscribers through October and November. 182,000 people are now customers of O2 TV.
ARCEP, the French communications regulator, is holding a two-month consultation on a review of spectrum for high-speed mobile systems. Taiwanese optical film maker Wah Hong Industrial is to begin producing films for display sizes up to 90″ next year. The company currently produces films up to 60″ in size. In addition, two more coating lines will be added to the current three in Q3’15, and begin operation in Q4.
