Etmag claims that Chinese panel makers are increasingly investing in AMOLED and PMOLED technologies, to secure flexible display orders from China-based wearable vendors. Foxconn is said to be producing smartphones for the Latin American market at a factory in Brazil. Xiaomi’s Hong Mi 2 and Asus’ Zenfone 2 are both being produced at the facility, say sources. This is to avoid high customs tariffs on imported consumer electronics.
