Samsung ‘Will Cut Shipments by 12%’

The Korea Times claims that Samsung will cut its smartphone shipments in 2016 by more than 12% YoY. An official from one of Samsung’s local partners is reported to have made the comments. Another official said that such a cut would mean that Samsung would produce between 420 million and 430 million handsets in 2016.

Three New Fabs for Foxconn

Sources from Asia claim that Foxconn is to establish a G6 LTPS TFT-LCD panel fab in Guiyang City, China. The fab will mainly be used to produce 5.2″, 5.5″ and 6″ panels for smartphones.
