Dish Network reported 2015 year ending net profit of $747 million, down 21% YoY from $945 million. Turnover was $15.1 billion compared to $14.6 in 2014, a 3% YoY increase. Total Pay-TV subscribers declined about 0.6%, however, ARPU increased just over $3 to $86.79.

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs & Communications has announced that the country is likely to have between 19 and 22 UltraHD channels on air by 2018. The ministry adds that they are already testing higher quality ‘Super Hi Vision’ (8k) broadcasts, planned for 2018 ahead of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
