Ocean Outdoor has doubled the size of its ‘Grid’ network – a portfolio of full motion city-centre screens – in the UK (Display Monitor Vol 20 No 36). Tech Data has been appointed as the sole B2B distributor for Microsoft’s Band 2 activity tracker. Tech Data will be collaborating with Microsoft to drive interest in the new device, particularly to support resellers and ISVs who are interested in developing applications for commercial deployment.
Zurich Airport in Switzerland has extended its marketing contract with Clear Channel, for another three years. Clear Channel manages all of the 32, 46″ and 55″ displays in the airport, as well as two large-format screens near the check-in areas.
Dish Network has released subscriber results for Q1 2016. The company activated approximately 657,000 gross new pay-TV subscribers, compared to approximately 723,000 in Q1’15. Net Pay-TV subscribers declined approximately 23,000, compared to a gain of approximately 35,000 in Q1’15. Total pay-TV subscribers in Q1’16 were 13.9 million; down from 14 million.
TiVo Inc. has announced that it has reached 7 million subscriptions for TiVo-enabled platforms deployed by operators in both North America and Europe, including Virgin Media, Vodafone Spain, RCN, Cogeco and Suddenlink. The growth is a 27% increase since 31st January 2015.
