Russia’s NTV-Plus pay-TV platform, has agreed contracts for two additional satellites with Eutelsat Communications. Following the launch of new services earlier this month, NTV-Plus now has full coverage across the Russian Federation. The expansion follows approvals earlier this year from Russia’s Federal Tender Commission to extend its broadcasting footprint as far as to the Pacific Coast.
The contract that NTV-Plus signed, is a multi-year, multi-transponder contract with covering the Express-AT2 satellite at 140° East and incremental capacity on the Express-AT1 satellite at 56º East.
NTV-Plus was launched on Eutelsat over 20 years ago, and today offers more than 240 special-interest channels including some with HD content. It also offers 11 sports channels plus 42 channels produced by Gazprom Media.
