Nintendo Switch OLED Model gets an upgraded screen

Switch OLED

What They Say

As widely rumoured, Nintendo has adopted an OLED display (Nintendo Plans Switch Model With Bigger Samsung OLED Display) for a new version of its Switch console. The model will have the same resolution as the current model at 1280 x 720, and has a slightly bigger diagonal at 7″ compared to 6.2″. It will cost $50 more than the LCD version and will be available in October.

What We Think

The new model disappointed some that follow Nintendo as it didn’t boost processing at all, although storage was doubled to 64GB and it has a wired ethernet port. It is also not that much bigger, but on a handheld device that is meant to be moved that may have been a careful balance of factors. The device is very marginally heavier than the smaller one and slightly larger overall. I know that my Mario-crazy family member would be very pleased to try it 🙂 (BR)
