Nexell of Korea has announced a new application processor, the NXP5540 that can support HEVC (H.265) encoding at UltraHD resolution and both VP9 and HEVC decoding at UltraHD at 60fps, using ip from Chips&Media.
Neo Kang, CEO of Nexell, said “We expect it to occupy a competitive position in various multi-media SoC markets such as STB, AVN, Automotive, IoT”.
