US space agency NASA is launching North America’s first non-commercial UltraHD TV channel for consumers. NASA Television will go live on the 1st November, broadcasting footage from the ISS, current NASA missions and re-mastered content from historical missions. Harmonic’s end-to-end delivery system will be used to broadcast content at UltraHD and 60fps. A 13Mbps connection will be required to watch the channel online., but Harmonic is also talking to pay-TV companies about carriage.
