NAB Show New York

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) holds its NAB Show New York every October in New York to complement its main NAB Show held every April in Las Vegas. Typically only a few new products are introduced at NAB-NY. Most vendors with products to introduce in the fall introduce them at the IBC show held in Amsterdam in September. The NAB Show New York caters to the large New York broadcast community and others in the US that do not want to go to Amsterdam. Total registered attendance for this year’s NAB-NY, held October 17 – 18 at the Javits Convention Center, was 15,097, a 6.1% increase over attendance from the 2017 event. While this is not a big show compared to either NAB or IBC, there are a broad range of vendors for attendees to talk to. This year’s event included 300+ exhibitors, 67 of which were participating for the first time. The 2019 NAB Show New York will be held October 16 and 17, also at the Javits Center.

This show report does not attempt to cover every vendor at NAB-NY. Instead, I focused on ones that did not attend IBC, introduced new products since then or Bob Raikes missed when covering IBC alone. Special emphasis will be given to display vendors at NAB-NY. – Matthew Brennesholtz
