We reported last week on new ESLs that are being made by Toppan, using E Ink displays from Pervasive (Pervasive Combines E Ink with RFID for Battery-less Tags). We followed up with Toppan as details were scarce and found that there are three devices with diagonals of 1.44″ (128 x 96), 2.00″ (200 x 96) and 2.70″ (264 x 176).
The devices have a small amount of local memory which can store up to three images. Operating temperature range is 0ºC – 40ºC and Toppan sees applications in inventory management, logistics and asset tracking.
