SES has announced that an additional six more US cable operators have agreed to join its Ultra HD trials. (Frontier using SES for Service Delivery of Ultra HD) Currently there are over 15 cable operators and multichannel video programming distributors testing UltraHD content delivery across SES’s managed, pre-packaged Ultra HD platform. Theses operators have a combined consumer base of over seven million subscribers. The SES platform offers Ultra HD programming together with satellite distribution services and reception gear. Some of the operators are nearing the launch of consumer Ultra HD packages across the country.
The new trial agreements include Aureon in Iowa, GVTC Communications in Texas, Highlands Cable Group in North Carolina, KPU Telecommunications in Alaska, Service Electric in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and Shrewsbury Community Cable in Massachusetts.
