We now have a spec sheet for Philips’ 34.1″ widescreen monitor, the BDM3490UC, which we saw at IFA (Colour and Curves Come to the Fore With Philips at IFA).
Featuring an AH-IPS panel, with 99% sRGB coverage, the main selling point of the monitor is its wide display. Resolution is 3440 x 1440 (21:9), and the screen can be partitioned into separate areas. Picture-in and picture-by-picture modes are supported. Philips’ SmartContrast feature automatically adjusts the backlight, while SmartResponse lowers latency.
The monitor has 172°/178° viewing angles and 300 cd/m² of brightness. It can show 10-bit colour (8-bit with framerate control) and features DisplayPort, HDMI (x2, one supporting UltraHD at 60fps), MHL-HDMI and USB 3.0 (x4) ports.
MMD will begin selling the new monitor in Q4, for CZK24,800 ($1,040) ex VAT.
