MMD Claims First VESA DisplayHDR 1000 Monitor

MMD has a new monitor line-up, Momentum, focused on home entertainment, particularly console gaming.

The first Philips Momentum monitor is the Philips 436M6VBPAB which has UltraHD resolution on its 43″ VA panel. The 436M6VBPAB display has 1000 cd/m² in peak brightness (720 cd/m² typical), wide colour gamut with 100% of BT. Rec. 709 and 97.6 % DCI-P3 coverage with 8 bit +2 bit FRC (Frame Rate Control) colour depth. The company claims it is the first monitor to meet the new VESA DisplayHDR 1000 standard! It also has the USDA Alliance Premium certification. It has 4,000:1 contrast and also has a dynamic mode.

The 436M6VBPAB uses Quantum Dot technology and has a claimed response time of 4ms GtG and AdaptiveSync. It also has a low input lag mode.

Connectors include DisplayPort 1.2, Mini DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0 video signal inputs, as well as USB-C with Power Delivery. Power consumption is 162W (typical).

Features include Ambiglow lighting and dual 7″ speakers with DTS Sound.

Pricing in the UK is £699 ($815 + tax) and the monitor will ship from next month.
