Portugal Telecom, operating as Meo, has launched an Ultra HD, wireless IPTV set-top-box, powered by the Microsoft-originated, Ericsson-owned operating system, Mediaroom. Meo customers with net speeds of at least 200 Mbps who subscribe to all of the company’s services will get first refusal on the new box. Other customers can upgrade to the new device for an increased monthly fee, from €5 ($6.15) to €7.50 ($9.25). The new STB was manufactured by Arris.
