Markets and Markets has released a new research report (http://tinyurl.com/l2occhu), predicting that the pico projector market will be worth $9.32 billion by 2020, at a CAGR of 39.82%.
Pico projectors are expected to become integrated in mobile phones and digital cameras, with shrinking chipsets also leading to projector miniaturisation.
Most pico models are currently DLP units. However, Markets and Markets believes that most future models will be based on Laser Beam Steering (LBS) technology. DLP had a share of 56.9% in 2014 and will grow at a 31.53% CAGR to 2020; LBS, meanwhile, will grow at a 56.95% CAGR.
