LG Display has updated its OLED TV sales forecast and revealed this is in its quarterly presentation. The company now expects to see between 400,000 and 500,000 TVs in 2015, and 1 million in 2016.
LGD’s previous forecast had targeted 600,000 sets this year, and 1.5 million next year. OLED-Info believes that the reduction is not wholly negative, however, as LGD is now aiming at fewer large (65″ and 77″) TVs, rather than a larger number of smaller (55″) sets. LGD said that for 55″, its yields are now similar to LCD, although larger sizes are at lower levels still.
