LG takes OLED mainstream with new 48-77″ A1 OLED TVs

What They Say

FlatPanelsHD made a useful table of the specifications of the OLED TVs that is quite useful. The blog also said that the A1 range is expected to be ‘more accessible’ in price than previous OLED TVs from the firm, with downgraded facilities such as 60Hz panels and HDMI 2.0

What We Think

LG will be trying to gradually ease down the entry level for OLEDs to boost volumes, to absorb production from its Chinese fab, ideally while trying to do its best to maintain pricing for its premium products. As miniLED LCDs get cheaper, keeping this balance may get more difficult. (BR)
