Analyst Comment
We have previously reported on the work that Altera was doing on the delivery of professional video over IP (Altera Shows how FPGAs can Deliver 4K Video over HDMI 2.0 or 12G SDI) and with Dolby Vision (Altera FPGAs to Help with Dolby Vision Solutions) although specialist analysts suggest that the acquisition is to boost Intel’s presence in data centres and in IoT applications.
