HP introduced some new notebooks including the second generation Spectre 13 – claimed to be the world’s thinnest touch laptop and with a FullHD display and using the latest 8th Generation Intel core processors. The notebook is 10.4mm thick and the body is made from aluminium and carbon fiber. The display is 13.3″ diagonal with Gorilla Glass NBT and is based on IPS. The notebook takes processors up to a Core i7 with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD. Battery life is said to be up to 11.5 hours and charging can be taken to 50% with a 30 minute charge.
HP said that the battery used has a ‘stepped cell’ design. There’s a USB Type-C connector and dual Thunderbolt 3 ports and the notebook can support dual UltraHD monitors. Weight is 2.45lbs (1.1kg) and pricing starts at $1,299.
The Spectre x360 has also been upgrade to have the same specifications in terms of memory and processor, but has an UltraHD display. There is also a FullHD version that can support 16.75 hours of battery life. A new feature is an integrated privacy screen and the unit supports pen operation. Weight is slightly higher at 2.78 lbs (1.3kg) and the unit shares the dual Thunderbolt ports, but has a USB Type A 3.1 port.
