Amber Garage has created an equivalent to the Google Cardboard for AR and called the HoloKit. The design used folded cardboard with dual mirrors and a semi-transparent fresnel lens to superimpose an image of the world above the phone. Supported phones are iPhone7 or Tango devices. The kit is being sold on Amazon.com for $29.99.

Thanks to TechCrunch, which pointed out that there is a Kickstarter version of this from Aryzon. I know that I have also seen a low cost plastic version of this concept, but couldn’t find it in our database at press time! (BR)
