Hitachi Takes UST to the Next Level

Hitachi’s newest Smart projector – currently unnamed – is able to throw a 40″ image from just 1cm from the display area. The company had it set up on a desk in the small booth, where the image appeared both bright and sharp. Resolution is 1280 x 800 and the projector can mirror content from a smartphone or tablet through Miracast.

The Smart projector is a DLP unit with interactivity, although this wasn’t demonstrated.

An IR-touch six-point interactive LCD display was nearby, simply referred to as ‘the Interactive Flat Panel Display’, or IFPD. It is a 65″ unit for collaborative use, with an OPS slot for a PC, through which it can support Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1. Hitachi’s Starboard software is bundled.

Introduced at Infocomm this year, the CP-HD9320 is a DLP projector. With 1920 x 1080 resolution and 8,200 lumens of brightness, it is an installation model for large venues. Connectivity is varied, with HDBaseT, HDMI (x2), DVI-D, VGA, RJ45 and HD-SDI.
