Grundig Invests in Sound for UltraHD TVs

A new TV is to be added to Grundig’s Vision 8 range, with the main selling point being its UltraHD resolution.

The VLX 8484L, in 48″ and 55″ sizes, will support active 3D and be bundled with two pairs of glasses. It is a Smart set, with a dual-core processor, Grundig’s Smart Inter@ctive functionality and HbbTV compatibility. Mobile device connections are supported through MHL, DLNA, Miracast and Bluetooth connectivity.

Two tuners (DVB-T and DVB-S2) are built into the TV. It has 40W of sound output (two 15W speakers and a 10W subwoofer), as well as SRS Studio Sound HD; this smooths the volume when switching sources or channels, so users are not deafened when moving from quiet to loud content.

Grundig has not shared full specifications for the VLX 8484L yet. The TV will feature 100Hz video processing (apparently boosted to 600Hz by a backlight scanning system) and feature HDMI (x4, 2 supporting UltraHD at 60fps), composite, Scart, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 (x2) ports.

Grundig will sell the 48″ TV for
