Garmin was showing an impressive array of fitness and smartwatches that also address many sports and fitness requirements. As one would expect from Garmin, GPS plays an important role in its products. While not new by any means, the high end devices, like the Epix, fall into the smartwatch category as they allow for connection to the smartphone of the user.
From a display perspective, Garmin has not taken the OLED approach but relies on a 1.4″ transflective display to increase outdoor readability. The display has a resolution 205 by 148 pixel and is full color. However, like most transflective LCDs, the colors are somewhat washed out.
