Games better on Daydream than Gear VR?

A review by Tom’s Hardware that explains that an air combat game, Bandit Six, runs better on a Daydream smartphone than on the Samsung Gear VR, up to now considered as probably the best of the smartphone-based systems. The website tested with a Samsung Galaxy S7 on the Gear VR (a Canadian version, and with an Exynos processor) and a Google Pixel XL. The software seemed to have better visual quality, improving game play. This may be related to optmisiation.
