Extron has unveiled an HDMI cable equaliser/extender called the HD 4K 101 Plus, which can handle up to DCI-4k resolution, 60fps and 4:4:4 subsampling.
Designed to be used at the end of a long cable run, the unit equalises poor or marginal source signals; reduces jitter and skew; and adds output (pre-emphasis). DCI-4k HDMI signals can be extended up to 23m, or 53m if 1920 x 1080.
Data rates up to 18Gbps (HDMI 2.0b) are supported, with features such as HDR, Deep Colour (up to 12-bit), 3D and CEC. The unit can be rack-mounted and powered by the connected HDMI source, or by a separate power supply.
Extron is selling the HD 4K 101 Plus now. Price is on application.
