BAE Systems in Warton UK apparently wants to invest in a new facility with state-of-the-art simulation visuals as a means of showcasing capabilities across various fast jet platforms to potential customers. As a result, it has teamed up with Esterline to build a display system capable of high-quality out-of the window, night time and night-vision-goggle (NVG) scenes. The new, purpose-built facility will be used to provide demonstrations to prospective clients.
The display system is a 9-channel Treality Seer dome and also includes a Head-Up Display (HUD) projector. Optical edge-blending is used to achieve quality blend regions even for low-light NVG conditions. These blend plates are mounted on motorized fixtures so they can easily be removed for daylight scenes.
