Designed for the casino gaming industry, Elo’s newest touchscreen product is particularly interesting for its shape: it is curved from the top to the bottom. The aptly-named Intellitouch Curve is robust enough to handle 50 million touches in one location without failure. Surface acoustic wave touch technology is used, so there are no coatings, plastic films or moving parts – lengthening the Curve’s lifetime.
Elo will begin to sell the Intellitouch Curve as a component for LCD screens later this month. It will be available in single- or dual-touch models, in 32″ and 42″ sizes. Standard deviation is typically less than 2.5mm and light transmission is 92% (+/-2%).
A price for single units was not available at the time of going to press.
