Displaylink’s Chipset Enables UltraHD USB Dock

USB 3.0 docking stations are now relatively common, but Club 3D believes that it has developed a world first: a dock that can connect a device to an UltraHD monitor and transfer high-resolution signals.

The Sensevision CSV-3103D uses Displaylink’s DL-5000 chipset (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 3), which can transport UltraHD signals at 30fps over USB 3.0 connections. Tablets, notebooks, ultrabooks and desktop PCs are supported. As well as UltraHD signals, one of the dock’s three USB 3.0 ports supports BC 1.2, the latest battery charging standard.

DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI (supporting 2048 x 1152 resolution) and USB 3.0 (x3) ports are featured on the dock. It will be launched by the end of October, for
