Dish Network Adds 694,00 New Pay-TV Subscribers in 4Q 2016

Dish Network added 694,000 new pay-TV subscribers in the last quarter of 2016 compared to 661,000 in the same quarter a year earlier. Taking churn into account, Dish Networks increased its pay-TV subscriber numbers by 28,000 compared to a decrease of 12,000 in the last quarter of 2015.

The company also reported total revenue of $3.72 billion for the quarter compared to $3.78 billion for the corresponding quarter in 2015. Net income was $343 million for the quarter 2016, compared to a loss of $125 million for the 2015 quarter. Dish Network figures include both the Dish and Sling brands.

At the end of 2016, the company had 13.671 million pay-TV subscribers, compared to 13.897 million pay-TV subscribers at the end of 2015. Total revenues were $15.09 billion compared to $15.07 billion in 2015.
