Da-Lite Shows Integrated System

The four AV brands of Milestone, Da-Lite, Projecta, Chief and Vaddio shared one booth at ISE. Da-Lite, probably, is the most interesting to Large Display Monitor readers because they make projection screen material for ambient light rejection, as well as finished projection screens with frames. The only news here is that they are now making their 7-layer ambient light rejecting Parallax material on flexible as well as rigid substrates.

There were no developments in the screen materials themselves except that the matte-white HD Progressive material is now available with a smooth, easy to clean surface. The main advantage of the HD progressive surface is, however, its ability to preserve image fidelity. The smooth surface does not introduce any “sparkle” in the image. HD progressive comes in several gains and it was the gain 0.9 you were invited to feel.

Like DNP (DNP Moving to Display Solutions), Da-Lite offers integrated systems of Dell-branded short-throw projectors mated with off-axis ambient light rejecting screens. Projecta makes finished screens in Europe, using Da-Lite screen materials. I was told this significantly reduces delivery time for finished screens in Europe, compared to ordering them from Da-Lite in the US. Chief makes AV mounting hardware and Vaddio makes AV bridges, document and teleconference cameras, etc. –Matthew Brennesholtz
