Croatia experienced growth in pay-TV services during 2016, with DTH representing the biggest gain, according to data published by the regulator Hakom. Satellite TV subscriptions grew 8.52% more than in 2015, with subscriber numbers being 178,428 at the end of 2016. The IPTV service rose by 3.01% year-on-year to 398,436, and cable TV service rose 3.27% to 159,090.
New subscribers for pay-DTT fell by 2.68% to 59,771, and DTT reception also experienced a fall of 3.98% to 699,983. Customers for the independent TV services fell by 11.67% to 231,469. TV services revenues as a whole increased by 8.05% to €23,725,200.
