The games console is the primary method of streaming in US homes, according to Parks Associates. 46% of broadband households in the country have a console connected to the internet, and 28% use it as their primary connected CE device. Of the latter group, around 75% use the console at least weekly to access non-gaming content online. Smart TVs are the second most popular streaming device (although they ‘trail’ consoles, said PA), followed by streaming media players (12%) and connected Blu-ray players (9%).
