Canadian communications firm Comwave has selected German set-top-box provider Abox42 and its M30-series STB for the launch of brand new IPTV service, ComwaveTV
ComwaveTV, which launched on September 25th, is Comwave’s first television platform. It provides live and catch-up TV, on-demand services and cloud-based PVR.
Recordings can be viewed across multiple ComwaveTV-capable STBs. The service also backs up the past 24 hours of live TV, allowing subscribers a second chance to catch any of their favourite shows that they might have missed.
The Abox42 M30-series incorporates a dual-core ARM processor and an H.265/HEVC video codec, allowing for more efficient streaming of high-definition content.
ComwaveTV is available in three subscription packages. The basic package costs $25 per month, while additional channels are available with the Gold subscription, priced at $40 per month, and Platinum, which costs $60 per month.
