ClickShare Imitation Seized at ISE

Following a decision by a Dutch judge, all wireless presentation systems of the US-based company KanexPro, on show at Integrated Systems Expo in Amsterdam, are to be seized. The judge granted Barco’s petition against KanexPro on the basis of a patent infringement, the patent being held by Barco. On 7th February at the opening day of ISE, a bailiff approached the booth of KanexPro with the order to seize all infringing materials present at the show. The seized equipment is to be used as evidence in a patent infringement lawsuit.

In April 2012, Barco launched ClickShare, a meeting room technology that Barco claims enhances meeting efficiency and better decision making. The wireless presentation and collaboration system allows any meeting participant to share content on the central meeting room screen with the use of ClickShare buttons. Following its launch, the ClickShare family has expanded and has won several industry awards including the InAVation Award (2013, 2014) and rAVe readers’ choice awards (2014, 2015 and 2016).

To protect Barco’s efforts in research and development, the company has secured a strong portfolio of both utility and model patents and registered ClickShare as a trademark in various jurisdictions. Barco is also closely monitoring other potential infringers in Europe, the Americas and APAC and will take the necessary steps to prevent others from copying Barco’s patented technology.
