Google will not fix a framerate issue with its Chromecast device, it has said. In Europe, most video content is delivered at 25fps or 50fps, but Chromecast is hard-wired to send video at 60fps. The result is a mismatch in frames, displayed as judder. ‘Chromecast cannot attempt to handle changes in HDMI refresh rates since it is very hard to accurately identify the incoming frame rate’, said a Chromecast engineer.
