Christie has announced the D4K40-RGB, a new RGB laser projector with 40,000 Ansi lumens of output and 5,000:1 on/off contrast and based around a three 1.38″ DLP DCI 4K chips. The life of the laser engine is 30,000 hours to 80% brightness.
Colour support is more than 90% of Rec. 2020 and the projector can support frame rates up to 120Hz. The laser engine, which is integrated, has dual 12G SDI and HDMI as well as DisplayPort 1.2 and a fibre connector. There are a range of optional input modules and seven optional lenses with zoom from 0.72:1 to 3.89-5.43:1 ratio.
The unit can be powered from a single phase 220V supply with 19A. Size (not including lens) is (LxWxH): 37 x 28 x 21.8″ (947 x 711 x 553mm) and weight is 285lbs (130kg).
The unit will be shipping from December, although Christie is already showing the unit to channel partners and potential buyers.
